 EXPANDED FATHER’S DAY DOLPHIN DERBY OFFERS GREAT FISHING AND MORE THAN $12,000 IN CASH AND PRIZES MARATHON, Florida Keys – The twenty third annual Father’s Day Dolphin Derby, to benefit Marathon High School Athletics, is set for Friday and Saturday, June 19 and 20, in Marathon FL. This popular dolphin only tournament has been expanded to include both a Pro/Semi Pro and Amateur Division awarding $5,000 and $2,500 grand prizes respectively. There are several prize levels and cash prizes and awards total in excess of $12,000. Also new this year is a Father-Son Team award in each division. All festivities, including the weigh-in, will take place at Sombrero Resort and Lighthouse Marina on Sombrero Blvd. in Marathon. The tournament is to kick off with final registration and a mandatory Captain’s meeting on Friday, June 19 at 6 pm. Fishing is to run from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm on Saturday, June 20. Weigh-in is from 3:00 until 5:30 pm with the awards banquet and presentation to follow at 6 pm. Entry fee is $175 per angler. There is a three-angler minimum in the Pro/Semi Pro Division, and a two-angler minimum in the Amateur Division. The registration fee includes entry, one meal ticket for both the Captain’s meeting and the awards banquet and a tournament shirt. Each team Captain will receive a gift bag chock full of goodies. Early registration on or before Thursday, June 18 is strongly recommended as the first 40 boats registered will receive a free custom embroidered Columbia shirt at a $70 value.
